John Green is the co-founder of Nerdfighteria, an internet group dedicated to decreasing "world suck". Nerdfighteria was started through John and his brother, Hank Green's YouTube channel, the Vlogbrothers. Together they currently have many different projects and channels in the works.
The two have produced and starred in many other YouTube projects including, CrashCourse (an educational video platform where John and Hank teach history, science, literature, and psychology), SciShow, Sexplanations, Pemberley Digital (a vlog adaptation of the Jane Austen novels Pride and Prejudice and currently Emma), Mental Floss, How to Adult, Vidthoughts, The Brain Scoop, Truth or Fail, Hankgames (where John also plays FIFA), and most recently The Art Assignment with Sarah Urist Green. |
Between YouTube, writing, and his family, Green is a very busy man. Green and his brother Hank also have several other projects they collaborate on such as VidCon (a yearly YouTube convention in Anaheim, California) and running DFTBA Records (DFTBA is the long-running final thought in every Vlogbrothers video which means 'Don't Forget To Be Awesome'). They even founded The Project for Awesome; a charity fundraiser on YouTube which raised three quarters of a million dollars in 2013 alone. Green also works with This Star Won't Go Out, another charity created around Ester Earl's fight with cancer, who sadly lost her fight in 2010. However, since then, Esther has become a published author with a book titled the same as the organization which was founded around her, This Star Won't Go Out.
